Launching this week is the new social website and app, Untappd.com. Based on the popular Foursquare app, Untappd is focused on the very social practice of beer drinking and its connoisseurs.
Much like a beer tasting party, the app users can share their favorite beers and haunts on their iPhone, Droid or smartphone of choice. I had the opportunity to work with the developers of Untappd, Something More Human, and was brought in to design and illustrate the application’s icon badges. Shown here are just a small sampling of more than 50 different badges you can earn using the social application and sharing your favorite beers with your friends and social network. Who knew? The badges have been a big hit. So much so, that there are a handful of blogs out there that are focused on the sole purpose of collecting them all. And, I couldn’t be happier to hear it.
So, I decided to showcase the entire first 50 icon badges that I designed for the Untappd launch for all to see. They were a lot of fun to create.
